Boxing Gear Recommendations
Essential Gear for First Session
For your first few sessions, all you’ll need are gloves and hand wraps. If you’re new to boxing or need your gear quickly, you can find most of the options below on Amazon Prime.
Boxing Gloves
Go for 14oz gloves. This size will provide good protection for both your hands and your sparring partner. Brands like Everlast, TITLE, or Venum have solid options, with TITLE being a great mix of quality and affordability.
TITLE Classic Boxing Gloves - $16.99( Select: Size Large/14oz)
Adidas Speed Flex 3 Training Gloves - $34.99
Everlast Pro Style Training Gloves ($40)
Handwraps
Wraps are equally important for protecting your hands. I recommend 180-inch wraps for added comfort, hand/knuckle protection, and wrist support.
Additional Sparring Gear
As we progress to sparring, consider investing in the following:
Mouth Guard – Essential for protecting teeth during contact work.
Protective Headgear – Try TITLE Classic High Performance Headgear ($34.99).
Shoes – Boxing shoes provide the right support for pivots and footwork. Regular sneakers might slip or lack ankle support, so eventually invest in a good pair.
Budget Options: Cross-training or high-top sneakers you already own.
Recommended Boxing Shoes:
Note: Training shoes with adequate grip and ankle support make a big difference in balance, pivoting, and ankle safety during boxing.
