1 - on - 2 Boxing Instruction

Group boxing training is intentionally limited to two people to ensure that each of you gets the attention and focus needed to develop real, effective boxing skills. Here’s why this structure works:

  • Partner Drills for Faster Progress: With just two people, you'll engage in various partner drills that help you advance more quickly.

  • Quality Over Quantity: Limiting the group size allows me, as your trainer, to give each of you the proper attention. This means you'll develop the correct technique, form, and understanding of the fundamentals—ensuring you're training effectively and safely.

  • Practice Beyond the Sessions: Training with a partner also means you have someone to practice with outside of our sessions. Repetition is key to mastering boxing skills, and having a partner will allow you to continue honing your skills together between sessions.

Train with a Partner:

Gain Boxing Skills for the Real World

What You'll Learn:

  • Boxing Number System: You’ll learn to throw punches using the boxing number system, understanding jabs (1), crosses (2), hooks (3-4), and uppercuts (5-6). This system is crucial for building combinations and flowing through movements.

  • Offensive & Defensive Techniques: From throwing punches to dodging them, you’ll work on both offense (how to strike effectively) and defense (how to protect yourself). We’ll cover head movement, slips, ducks, blocks, and counters.

  • Footwork Mastery: Boxing is just as much about where your feet are as where your hands are. You’ll learn how to move effectively, position yourself, and maintain balance through strategic footwork.

How You'll Learn:

  • Pad Work: Partner pad drills will teach you how to land punches with accuracy and power while building coordination with your partner.

  • Heavy Bag Work: Develop strength and endurance through heavy bag drills that reinforce the proper form for punches and combinations.

  • Partner Drills: Engage in drills that simulate real-world scenarios, helping you develop reaction time, rhythm, and situational awareness.

Equipment Requirements for Basic Group Training

For clients who choose not to purchase the VIP add-on, you will need to bring the following equipment to each session:

  • Boxing Gloves: 14oz recommended

  • Hand Wraps: To protect your wrists and hands

For partners who are interested in sparring you will need:

  • Mouth Guard

  • Protective Headgear

  • Boxing Shoes (optional but recommended): If you don’t have boxing shoes yet, supportive cross-training shoes will work for now. Eventually, you’ll want shoes with ankle support and grip (e.g., Adidas Box Hog).
